PHALAENA
The TRIO PHALAENA didn’t exist, it just had to be invented…
Isabelle Chardon (violin), Sophie Hallynck (harp) and Christophe Delporte (Bayan concert accordion), all three professors at the Institut Supérieur de musique et de pédagogie de Namur (Imep), have decided to intertwine their sounds and present you with an elegant trio. PHALAENA, which means “butterfly”, symbolises lightness, grace and the subtle rebirth of nature. The combination of these three instruments offers an alliance of incredible sonorities and favours an eclectic repertoire. From Johann Sebastian Bach to Maurice Ravel, Eric Satie, Camille Saint-Saëns and Manuel de Falla, the PHALAENA trio will amaze you with the complicity of its musicians. Alexandre Ouzounoff’s work “Don’t give up” will be given its world premiere, a commission from the Harpe en Avesnois festival in the presence of the composer.
